Sheffield Wednesday Football Club is a professional organization football club based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The team competes in Organization One, the third rate of the English football league system, having finished 24th in the 2020-- 21 Champion. Created in 1867 as an offshoot of The Wednesday Cricket Club (itself formed in 1820), they passed the name of the Wednesday Football Club until transforming to their existing name in 1929. Wednesday is just one of the earliest football clubs on the planet of any type of code, and the second-oldest professional association football club in England.
