After almost a decade of waiting, next Friday will finally premiere _ Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0 Thrice Upon to Time _ worldwide. While this is the last film in the Rebuild series, Hideaki Anno, creator of the franchise, has pointed out that there is the possibility of seeing a couple of additional stories that are carried out in this world.
Recently, Anno was interviewed by the Half Collider, which asked the director if there was the possibility of seeing something else in the world of evangelion in a future . This was what he commented on:
The 14-year-old hole will always be in history, so, in some way, I would like to give you more depth to that.
Remember that between EVANGELION 2.0 you can (not) Advance and 3.0 You can (not) Red There is a 14-year-old temporary jump. In this way, the principal could well explore the events of this period , although these would not include characters like Shinji.
Currently these are only assumptions, and not there are some kind of concrete plan about a spin-off or continuation of the world of Evangelion, whether we are talking about the original continuity, or the world of rebuild.
