In quarter-finals, RB Leipzig did extremely heavy against Atalanta Bergamo in the first half. The Lombards, which understood it with a four-chain and a compact center, to narrow the circles from the still against Dortmund (4: 1) so playful RB trio (Kampl, Laimer and Dani Olmo). Leipzig had problems, especially in the last third, to find allusion stations and to come into closing positions.

Atalanta, however, put a clearly rigorous approach to the day - and went with the first proper attack directly. Muriel invited from left to the penalty area, left Klostermann (played for Simakan in the triple chain, before Henrich's started for Mukiele) and put the ball worth seeing in the long corner (17.).

Only after about 20 minutes Leipzig was a bit more active - and promptly met the post by Silva (24th). Often, however, the RB attack game remained in the approach. Atalanta retreated a bit after the lead, but quickly increased the pace again and again and seemed most dangerous than the households. Pasalic failed shortly before the break from a very pointed angle on the outer post (45.).

The second pass seemed to take a similar course as the first, Muriel announced early, Gulasci parished heavily (53.). Shortly thereafter, wild minutes followed: Demiral moved in the penalty area against Nkunku the leg and met the Leipzig attacker at the foot. Musso parished the following penalmeter of Silva but as strongly as the following header from Orban (58.).

What did not work out of the point, then only a few seconds from the game succeeded - but Zappacosta helped with vigorously. The experienced outer defender steered an Angelino flank in front of Orban in his own meshes (58.)

But the compensation was not really shocked, rather motivated to make something more. The substitute Scalvini shot from a few meters over the gate (64.), Koopmeiners met the post (65th) from the distance. In general, this phase was quite wild, the ball possession often changed, it turned off a lot between both criminal areas.
Both miss the Lucky Punch
In the sixteen, it went back in the final phase, but then really dangerous. The substitute Szoboszlai failed freestanding by head on the lath (82.). The also substitute Mukiele then had bad luck that Demiral just scratched his shot after a corner straight from the line (90. + 1).
But Atalanta could have satisfied the Lucky Punch, but Orban blocked Koopmeiners's shot in the injection time (90. + 3) - and so it remained at 1: 1. Both teams could have shot more goals, but on both sides, this prevented the aluminum twice.
Before coming on Thursday, the second leg in Bergamo (18.45 clock) is due, both teams will be presenting their next game on Sunday. The Leipzig receives the TSG Hoffenheim (19.30 clock) and Atalanta is guest at Sassuolo Calcio (15 o'clock).
